Members of IMPACTDC are developed as leaders in multiple ways. They are developed as they lead their peers in community service and projects and community activation. They are developed as leaders through their interaction with serve on an advisory council to the senior leadership and board of directors of Central Union Mission.
We receive support from and interact with the senior leadership, board of directors and the staff of Central Union Mission. We provide insight, feedback and our perspective to the board of directors and senior leadership of the Mission.
Members have the opportunity to take on various leadership roles within the IMPACTDC Council. High school students get credit toward their volunteer hours requirements for graduation. The IMPACTDC Council, is the governing body that oversees and directs our projects, initiatives and relationship with Central Union Mission. The Council has elected officers that include president, one or more vice presidents, secretary, treasurer and editors. The Council also establishes project focused Committees that also offer leadership opportunities.
